Re: Saving Money on Groceries
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 11:30 AMI am "coupon freak". Save them but don't use them. I have a couple of favorite groceries stores and I go through the weekly sales and try to buy the most economical. Last night I went to the store (not one of my favorites) and started putting items in the cart and by the time I was done I ended up putting back most of them and only bought what I needed for dinner. Prices were outrageous !! I can say that I can save money. -

Re: Saving Money on Groceries
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 4:38 PMI keep a big garden. Potatoes, peas, carrots, letttuce, spinach, broccoli, tomatoes, cantalope, green beans and chili peppers. Some of it will be ready to eat next week.
I always buy in bulk. Flour, oatmeal, sugar. I also have two pecan trees that supply all the nuts we need. Yeah, it takes some time for a garden to mature, but summer comes anyway whether I plant or not.

Re: Saving Money on Groceries
Sun, May 18, 2008 - 3:19 PMBeing as sustainable a possible has saved me loads of money. Buying reusable items (like cloth napkins vs. paper napkins)... making meals from scratch ... growing food ... Putting bulk soap into a container (like dr. bronners). . . The closer I get to nature (even in the city), the more money I save. Reducing driving, too! Where I live gas is $4.30 per gallon.... so that adds to the grocery prices.
